It is a pleasure to introduce and welcome, Ben, our newest member of the Avon Energy team!
Ben will be joining us remotely from London as a Sustainability Analyst. He will be focusing on analysing and interpreting carbon emissions data to help build carbon reduction strategies for our clients, and will be supporting our social media presence.
We caught up with Ben recently to discuss him joining the team, here is a bit about him:
“I am an incoming Master’s student living in London. I will be starting an MSc in Climate Change: Science, Environment and Policy in September at King’s College London and I will be working at Avon Energy Partners alongside my studies. The Master’s examines key issues relating to climate and environmental change at an advanced level, and I hope to concentrate my studies on the physical science aspects, such as forecasting climate change and its impacts.”
What was the deciding factor in joining the Avon Energy team?
“For the past two years, I have been working offshore in the Oil and Gas Industry. Although I gained valuable experience offshore, I wanted to make a shift to a sector which is both exciting and which engages a positive contribution to the climate crisis. Hence, I am eager to join the team at Avon Energy Partners and I can’t wait to get started.”
What’s one thing you do day-to-day to reduce your carbon footprint?
“Every year I set out a goal to reduce my carbon footprint in some aspect of my life, this year I am focusing on travel. I no longer own a car, I prioritise lower emission modes of transport and I set aside extra time in my day to walk or cycle places”
Lastly, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to exercise regularly by cycling and running, and I enjoy anything outside really…rain or shine!
Great to have you onboard and welcome to the team, Ben!
