It is a pleasure to introduce and welcome, India, our newest member of the Avon Energy team! India is an intern, joining to support us in assessing energy, fuel, and emissions data for our clients to help them reach their net-zero targets.
We caught up with India recently to discuss her joining the team, here is a bit about her:
I have recently completed the Environmental Technology MSc at Imperial College London where I was specialising in Energy Policy. Before joining Imperial I read Physics (BSc) at Durham University.
At Imperial I gained a broad perspective of environmental issues and developed knowledge of the energy field within an environmental context. It has very much inspired me to work in an industry focused on net zero and I am interested in system change and innovation. I am very excited to join the team at Avon Energy and look forward to working analytically and across different sectors on sustainability related projects.
What was the deciding factor in joining the Avon Energy team?
I am thrilled to be joining a team so focussed on climate in an exciting and dynamic atmosphere. I am keen to gain experience on real world projects and to be part of the solution for companies strategizing how to reach their climate goals.
What’s one thing you do day-to-day to reduce your carbon footprint?
I try to reduce my carbon footprint day to day with multiple small acts such as reducing the carbon intensity of my diet and using active transport more frequently.
Lastly, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy spending my spare time outside going on walks or hikes or playing games such as tennis. I also love a good board game.
